The Ruth Project

March 2025

You're Invited to our Foster FUN Walk!

Don’t miss our 2nd Annual Foster FUNdraising Walk on April 12 at The Farm!  This fundraiser is a special day for ALL our friends to come together and raise funds for The Ruth Project.

We can’t wait to see our families, volunteers, donors, and community friends walking The Farm Activity Path together, enjoying The Farm while supporting foster families and their children.  There will also be carnival games, hot dogs, farm animals, even face painting — rain or shine, it’s going to be a great day!

Live outside the area?  You can still join in!  Choose a Team or a Walker to support or simply donate to the Walk! It’s all on the website>>Foster FUN Walk!

Can you believe it?  In His incredible timing, the Lord connected us with Brock Pearson at Chicagoland Truck Rental. We shared The Ruth Project mission, our need for a vehicle to transport items, and our vision for field trips with our kids. Without hesitation, Brock gifted us a beautiful 15-passenger van!  We are over-the-moon grateful and already have 1001 uses planned for this abundant gift.  Join us in thanksgiving and praise!

Nearly 200 gathered at our first Valentine’s Day Party for raffles, BINGO, trivia, lots of prizes and laughter — and a lasagna buffet! We even got lessons on how to draw Hey Hey and Púa! Miss all the fun being with families and kiddos?  There will be plenty at the April 12 Foster FUN Walk.  Don’t miss out this time>>Foster FUN Walk!

Teen Hangouts are THE place to be for our family’s teens. Our last Hangout had a photo theme! They created personal pizzas for dinner and then created Lego cameras to take home. They also used an instant camera to take their own photos around The Farm and assemble mini-photo albums to keep, too. It was sweet, intentional teen time!

We’ve launched “Naomi’s Circle,” a group of special women making an impact for The Ruth Project through multiplied giving. We gather, vote on “behind the scenes” needs, and donate $100 each.  This time, we voted unanimously for a commercial freezer for our monthly 50+ Dash and Dine casseroles!  All ages can join Naomi’s Circle anytime at>> Naomi’s Circle. Bring friends, moms, daughters, and grandmas or join remotely if you live far!

We’re on our way to “Finish the Farm” through the abundant generosity of Chapelstreet Church, who chose The Ruth Project as their local ministry partner receiving their 2024 Advent giftFirst on our list is completing the Storage Barn with three shipping containers — painted red, of course — which will safely store off-season Boutique clothing and all our larger itemsWe are so grateful!

Our Boutique “flip” is well underway!  All clothing items are being switched from Fall/Winter to Spring/Summer. This gargantuan effort usually takes a month, but with so many mighty volunteer groups, this time we may be ready for shopping appointments sooner! Thank you is never enough for all the hands that lovingly handle and haul clothing, hangers, and buckets to make this happen. We literally could not do this without you!

The Ruth Project continues to explode!  We are looking hire a motivated, energetic self-starter to help at our Elgin Boutique. This position has a very wide variety of responsibilities — every day is an adventure! Send your resume to Info@ruthproject.com.
