How It Works

Each Fun(d)raiser Walker commits to raising a minimum amount for Ruth Project families to participate in the Walk. 5K Walkers commit to $300 and 1-Mile Walkers commit to $100. You’ll be amazed at how many friends and family will want to support you – all you have to do is ask! Be creative on how to reach out; use social media, email, texting – even the old-fashioned phone call – to generate funds and excitement for encouraging foster families! Plus, every Walker gets a t-shirt!

Walk 5K

must be #years or older

The 5K Start will be at Blumen Gardens Garden Center at 403 Edward Street in Sycamore and finish at The Ruth Project Farm at 13659 Barber Greene Road. The route is simple as you make your way down Sycamore Road, but look for signs along the way! Park in the Blumen Gardens parking lot and look for our booth and then head back to your car from The Farm anytime via our continuous shuttle.

Walk 1 Mile

all ages welcome

The 1-Mile Start will be at The Ruth Project Farm at 13659 Barber Greene Road. Park in Sycamore’s Blumen Gardens parking lot, look for our booth, and take our shuttle to The Farm. You can head back to your car from The Farm anytime via our continuous shuttle.

Kids of all ages and abilities are encouraged to participate in the 1 Mile Walk! The Activity Path is flat limestone and can accommodate even the littlest walkers – strollers and wagons are welcome. There will be lots of interactive fun activity and surprises along the way to cheer walkers on, make them giggle, and forget how far they have left to go! This is truly a fun day for all ages and all abilities.
