Our “Serving To-Go” projects make it easy for you and your groups to impact children and their foster families – right at your location! Choose one or more of these great opportunities.

Current Projects:

Encouragement Cards, Boxes, & Bags

All our families and children need encouragement! Decorate blank cards, cupcake boxes, and/or gift bags for celebrations such as birthdays, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, or Special Events. We have links for you to purchase the cards, boxes, and bags; everyone brings their own Sharpies and creativity!

Cooking Crew

Gather in a kitchen to assemble casseroles or crock pot meals to gift families for our Dash & Dine event or individual family encouragement. We provide the recipes – you provide the ingredients and our standard aluminum pans through the provided Amazon link when you sign up. It’s that easy – and creates a fun evening of fellowship!

Cookies and Yummy Bar Baking

Plan a party in someone’s kitchen to bake your group’s favorite cookies and/or bars. We have recipes if you need them! Your group provides the baking ingredients and packages each dozen in gallon Ziplock bags. Our standard need is 25-50 dozen per month.

Bags of Joy

These lovely gift sacks are perfect for moms and young ladies in our Dash & Dine boxes, birthday gift bags, or individual gift baskets. After signing up you’ll receive the Amazon link for the bags to purchase – you decide how many. Gather items such as sweet notes, candy, lip balm, or tea bags – or come up with your own ideas on how to fill them with joy!

Cookies or Soup in a Jar Kits

These are so easy to assemble and are a great activity for our families in Dash & Dine, Welcome to The Ruth Project baskets, or birthday bags. We have cookie, brownie, and even soup recipes! You’ll receive an Amazon link to purchase the jars after signing up. We’ll follow up with recipes and you choose where to shop for the ingredients!

Child’s Sensory Kits

Assemble activity boxes that help children engage in calm, creative play. Purchase and fill compartment boxes with items such as wooden beads, sand, animal figures, pom-poms, buttons, Legos, marbles, faux flowers, crinkle paper, shells – the list goes on and on! We’ll share the Amazon link for the boxes – then you can head to your favorite craft or dollar stores for the sensory items.

Men’s Encouragement Bags

We can’t forget that our foster dads need encouragement, too! Fill gift bags with snacks they’ll enjoy like beef jerky or popcorn or helps like a tape measure or hand cleaner. We’ll get them to dads in our Dash & Dine boxes or birthday gift bags. Sign up and get the Amazon link to purchase the bags – you decide what color and how many. Then use our ideas on how to fill them or come up with your own!

No-Sew Fleece Blankets

No-Sew Fleece Blankets are one of the gifts each child receives as we welcome them to The Ruth Project. Blankets with favorite characters such as Spider Man or Bluey provide extra comfort and familiarity! Fun patterns and colors are also great for our teens. Purchase the fleece as a group or individually and assemble blankets together. We’ll give you assembly instructions when you sign up!

Throw a Shower for The Ruth Project

Gather as a church small group, friends, or office and throw a shower for The Ruth Project! Or, if you’re tech savvy, you could even host one online. New and growing foster families always need larger items such as car and booster seats, twin mattresses, portable cribs, and highchairs. Having these on hand at our Farm Storage Barn makes it easy for quick delivery. Safety standards require these to be brand new, so combining resources for a “shower” is a great idea for groups!

Let’s Feed the Animals

Our animals at The Farm offer comfort and friendship to kids from 9 to 99. Bagging their food in the right amounts makes it easy for our families to feed our precious creatures! Purchase the feed, bags, and cups – and work together to divide it for our chickens, sheep, and goats. When you sign up, we’ll give you Farm and Fleet links to find the specific animal feed that keeps our farm friends healthy.
