The Ruth Project abundantly loves foster children by coming alongside their foster families! It was the mission we launched five years ago and we’re committed to it more than ever. With our search for a larger Boutique underway, we’re connecting with our families in creative ways. We’re delivering, mailing, and ordering summer items. Pick-up appointments at The Farm are also an option. We have flexible, creative ways you also can continue serving our families — check out “Get Involved” below!

67 families with 351 family members launched their summer with May’s Deliver & Dine Party in a Box. Our “Big Feelings” theme included the beautiful In My Heart book and age-appropriate activities such as Emotion Dominoes. Other games, a frozen casserole, sides, and table decor were also inside. Our prayer is that this box blesses and equips our parents to help their kids identify and express feelings in healthy ways — especially during summer when schedules feel “out of whack.” We love our families!

The Activity Path has mini libraries! Thanks to the Engle family and their 4-H team, adorable libraries were created and installed. Each includes decor and books themed to match specific Spots, such as the Dirt Spot. Its library post is decorated with toy trucks on a painted road, and its books feature construction trucks and buildings. Families will love choosing books to read while hanging out at The Farm!
Hands of all sizes make our Farm Work Days into great days! Young Walter trimmed branches and flexed his muscles hauling yard waste. We were thrilled to have help from old friends who brought new friends — and together they painted picnic tables and covered the tops with fabric and plastic. Also check-marked was a ton of mowing and other landscaping work. It takes many hands to keep The Farm looking spiffy — and we are so grateful.
Torrential rainstorms will not keep our Summit friends from serving at The Farm! Their Summer students built and painted more picnic tables and protected the tops with fabric and plastic. They were so skilled with tools of the day — wrenches, screwdrivers, scissors, measuring tapes, paint brushes, even staple guns! This project is valuable, as these tables help create spaces for families to eat together and have meaningful conversation. We are grateful!

Village Church of Bartlett’s FORGE students returned for yet another Serve Day — and WOW did they serve! They painted hundreds of feet of fence, weeded unwanted weeds, planted new roses and flowers, weeded some more, and painted some more…all under the hot summer sun. It’s also a joy to share the latest Farm updates with these engaging young people — they ask questions and are impacted by our mission. What partners we have in VCOB!
